Google Business Profile Optimization Checklist

Check your profile name, category, hours, service area, services, photos, links, and review practices.

Google Business Profile Optimization Checklist

A useful Business Profile is complete, current, and consistent with the real business. Use this checklist during setup and revisit it whenever details change. Features can depend on eligibility, business category, region, and account status.

Identity and eligibility

Confirm the business is eligible and the profile is managed by the right account. Use the name customers see in the real world. Do not add service keywords, city names, or taglines unless they are genuinely part of the business name.

Contact, location, and hours

Set the correct primary category, address or service area, phone, website, and customer-facing hours. If customers do not visit the business address, review Google's service-area rules before showing that address. Keep holiday hours current.

Services, photos, and links

Where supported, list real services with accurate descriptions. Use current original photos and make sure booking or contact links work on mobile. Link to pages that describe the same service.

Reviews and maintenance

Ask for honest reviews without rewards or selective requests. Reply professionally and protect customer privacy. Review hours, phone, links, services, and old photos on a recurring schedule.
